Well, it's been an interesting start to the New Year for me.

First, no snow to speak of here in Eastern Washington, at least here in Clarkston.

Then we had to replace our hot water heater in 10 degree weather that was frosty, but
we didn't have to do it in 36 inches of snow.

The good news?

I did get my CZ-USA 2016 buyer's guides, and they are surely something this year!

From front to back.

Either way you read them, the new ones have a lot of information for the CZUB, CZ-USA,
and Dan Wesson product fan.

I've never owned a thumbhole stocked rifle, but the models for 2016 look tempting and
something that belongs in 2016-2017. Just add glass!

That a person will be able to own Carbine versions of the EVO Scorpions this year
is also good news.

 The same for the BREN series as well.

There are a few Dan Wesson models out this year, including the BRUIN, a dedicated
Long Slide 1911.

However, I really don't want to spoil it for you, so pick up you copy or copies at Wal-Mart
or other places, and sit down for a good read.

Not much news for me on the CZ front.

I'm eager to see what will be in the 2016 CZ/DW catalog.

Perhaps, we will see the CZ 455 Jaguar in the new lineup?

I still want to buy a CZ 452 FS (Full-Stock) if I can afford such  in
the New Year.

A 455 JAG would be a nice addition to my lovely CZ 455 LUX in .22/.22 Magnum

A RAMI BD might be nice as well.

Even though the P-07 and P-09 are great guns for most, they are still a bit heavy for
me to carry.

Same for a PCR and a P-01 for the most part.

My fourth CZ pistol ever, and my first RAMI.



About 13 years old as celebrate my 25th year as a CZ fan and owner.

Actually, I was a CZ fan for a few years before my first CZ, a 1985
Pre-B.

Well, this old dog will probably be replaced by either Christmas, or
my birthday in March 2016, by a newer RAMI model.


A RAMI BD has been on my radar for a couple of years, so I'll
make the emotional and financial leap someday.



My old RAMI carries nice in a holster like the SHTF GEAR Ace-1 kydex hybrid IWB, or
other holsters, and still shoots like a house on fire!


However, the BD would have fresh Nites, and the very safe decock lever.

Well, I've had the new Nikko Sterling scope in my CZ 455 LUX for a few weeks now,
but most of the roads around us are still closed due to forest fires.

I need to pick up a few boxes (if not bricks) of .22 LR and take it out and test it through my
LUX when nature allows.

The Nikko is pretty nice for a $52 scope from WAL-MART.com, plus $26 for
some Weaver type scope bases that accepted the CZ dovetail.

Not my usual choice of a Nikon or Leupold, but hey, it's only a .22/Magnum.

Forest fires, sick dogs and other maladies have kept us from doing much fishing..
or even shooting.

I'm hoping to get a Nikko Stirling scope.. mount it to my CZ 455 LUX and get out and shoot
it in .22 LR.

I'm not one to be reviewing a EVO pistol, or the BREN pistol..this summer, or at
any time this year.



While other rifles and pistol s have come and went out the door onto new lives.


My RAMI is still perking right along @ nearly 13 years old.

I think that I'm not alone, when saying that I'm eager to see what lies in store for us
CZ fans in 2016.

The long overdue Pocket Nine, or CZUB's entry into the Single Stack 9mm
war might be a reality?

One could also hope to see a 97B Compact or such with a polymer frame.

Myself, having tried other calibers over the 30 or so, could live my Golden
Years with .380, 9mm, and .45 ACP..just fine and dandy!

That ammo is available to me in my local shops and stores, along with online
ordering through Double Tap Ammo.

I would like to add a Jaguar to my CZ .22 collection, but only if time and money allows.

A new CZ 550 FS (Full-Stock) in .270 winchester would be nice in late 2015.

Then there is the newer CZ 557 that also peaks my interest.

A darker stock than the normal 557's and in .270 of course.

Whether or not that I'd pick the Carbine version, would be up in the
air.

Any Hunting here in Washington state for Deer means I'd have to shoot
a 4 point Buck, or larger.

The .270 with a 130-140 grain pill would do the job, but I might have to
bust the brush to get a good shot!

Elk would be in more open country, where the long/flat shooting .270 really
shines.

Scoping Your CZ or other Rimfire.

What seemed like both a long winter, but also a short one for us here in Eastern Washington
and Central Idaho.

Not a very cold winter to say the least and the Gonzaga Bulldogs went farther into the
Sweet 16 than any other Spokane based team in quite a while.

This means that my cabin fever wasn't burning a hole in my soul for Spring to arrive, but I still wanted to get out and stretch my legs (so to speak) with some informal shooting.

The real problem?

My CZ 455 LUX in .22 Magnum with the spare .22 LR barrel is very, very nice, but the
.22 barrel has no sights.

Some sort of quality scope will be needed in or for me to use the .22 barrel when I decide
to switch barrels.

As a kid growing up in Eastern Oregon.

My exposures to hunting rifle and .22 rifle scopes was limited.

Guys had Weavers or Tascos, with Redfields as well..

If you had the money...
a Leupold with that gold ring sat upon your rifle.

Both men and women bragged about their World Class scopes and if there were
Swarovski or Zeiss scopes, nobody I knew ever talked about them.

Later on in my early 20s.

One brand of scope(s) that I did encounter after establishing pen pals in the Republic
of South Africa, was called NIKKO STIRLING.

SA was in turmoil back then, but those Hunters that I knew through letters were
using these scopes as Leupold and others were cruelly expensive back then or
some brands fell under the trade embargo(s )of that era.

Another thing of interest was that they choose CZ or BRNO made rifles from
.22 to 375 H&H for most of their shooting.

They also used Suppressed /Silencer equipped rifles long before the recent craze
swept the states.

Still, those that I knew there used the Nikko Stirling scopes and other gear as
advertised in their gun magazine: SA Man Magnum, that is still in business

In retrospect, other than South Africa, or maybe New Zealand.

A person was
out of luck for that brand of optics.

I really didn't know that they were Made in Japan, or that I could probably have one
sent to from the RSA, but would it get lost on the long boat trip or be damaged
as well?

When the internet came into being, I thought that I might get to finally purchase a
Nikko scope.

Well the years flew by and in 1996 the political climate changed and  RSA was reborn.

However..I still lusted after a Nikko Sterling scope.

After the year 2000 I was using medium priced Burris scopes and those from Simmons..
until I moved to Washington state from Idaho.

My CZs and other Hunting rifles were sold off one by one and so were my scopes.

Well, come to present day..

Nikkos are available (or have been for a while) now from Legacy Sports as their importer.

I like the looks of the Nikko Stirling TARGET MASTER line.

I'm not into Bench Rest or any type of competition shooting.

No need for even 100 yard shots with my CZ 455 LUX.

The Nikko 4x14 with the 1 inch tube and 44mm objective..seems like it would be ideal for my paper and soda can punching
@50 yards or less.



MIDWAY has this scope for a cool $199  and you also get Free Shipping.

However, the

Nikko Stirling Mountmaster AO 4-12x50 

is half the price (Amazon) and is a dedicated Rimfire/Airsoft Nikko scope.

That 50mm objective would let in a lot of light.

After I pay off my recent vet bill, I hope to buy the Target Master  or the MountMaster and some medium or even high
CZ rings as well.

CZ's 455 LUX in .22 Magnum and .22 LR

Slick as snot and really shoots nice.

I hope to put on the spare .22 LR barrel and scope it this Spring.

RAMI SEASON is Coming!

The weather is warming up for some people and I'm getting more RAMI and CZ rifle/pistol inquiries from folks who either own CZs, or are interested in buying such.

I tell them for their first RAMI, or gun in general... to Buy the very safe RAMI BD.

The decock lever is very easy to operate and unlike some decockers, is small and out of the way. After to shoot and wish to lower the hammer, just depress the lever and re-holster, ect. The only real problem with the RAMI BD, is that even though I tell people to buy one/them and have been shooting a regular RAMI for almost 12 years..

When it comes to the RAMI BD..I don't have one:( I'm hoping to change that in the next couple of weeks if they are ins stock and CZ-USA can skip one out to me for evaluation. "Keepin' it CZimple!" KEV
